The traditional AstroSoc event returns better than ever!

Scotch Broth Haggis, Neeps and Tatties (Haggis, Turnip and Potato) Steak Pie (there will be a vegetarian alternative - though the actual dish has not been confirmed) Cranachan Tea, Coffee and Mints
For those who don't know, a number of speeches are given at the Burns Supper, and this year, a prize giving ceremony will also take place. The speeches and poems are:

Lyndsay Fletcher - Address to the Haggis
Martin Black - Toast to the Lassies
Rebecca Douglas - Response from the Lassies
John Brown - Ode to the non-Scots
Nicolas Labrosse - Response from the non-Scots
Martin Hendry - the Immortal Memory
Chris Walsh - To a Louse
Steven McGinty - To a Mouse
This costs £21 for one person, or £41 for two people. To buy the tickets, you must be a member of AstroSoc, but partners do not have to be members.
There is a ceilidh running the same night, upstairs in the Debates Chamber, from 8pm till midnight. The cost of this will be £3 for members and £5 for non-members - but only £1 extra if you're attending the Burns Supper.
Anyone who wishes to buy tickets to the supper need only e-mail Paul (paul@astrosoc.com) with their name, how many tickets they would like, whther it's for the Supper (in which case I need dietary requirements), Ceilidh or both, and a convenient time for us to meet you (preferably before or after a lecture in the Kelvin Building). The meal must be paid for before Friday the 22nd of January.
There are 150 spaces for the Supper, and 175 spaces total (between PhySoc, MacSoc and AstroSoc) for the Ceilidh - so sign up quickly!
Thanks!

29th September - Common Room - 7pm
The first and most traditional PhySoc event will be our 'Beer and Doughnuts' night! This is held in the Kelvin Building and will take place with AstroSoc on the 29th of September in the Common Room.

Also on offer will be soft drinks, other snacks and our Beer and Doughnuts Quiz! (With possible prize for the winner...)
This society isn't exclusive to P&A members, feel free to bring along other friends from the University for them to join in!
